There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the border from next door Thailand, where gambling den betting is not permitted. Eight gambling dens are established in a generally small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent destination, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a few controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; however, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 17:00, and although visas are apparently necessary to cross, there are means around this, as is real of many borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge casino, contains 150 slot machine games and 60 tables. The Naga gambling hall is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational resort and hotel complex that highlights many conveniences accompanying the casino, which contains ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 table games.
